World Bank plans to prolong Nigeria’s economic woes, says Shehu Sani

THE SUN

Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, accused the World Bank on Wednesday of complicating Nigerians’ plight.

According to Sani, the World Bank expects the struggle in Nigeria to go another 15 years before reaching the promised land.

Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “The World Bank wants the hardship to extend to the next fifteen years before we can reach the promise land. I don’t know of how many people will be remaining at that time to enjoy the fruits of the WB in its promise land. The question is How many African countries have the World Bank taken to the promise land?”

Sani’s remark comes after the World Bank announced that the Nigerian Naira will be one of the worst-performing currencies in Sub-Saharan Africa by the end of August 2024.
