The Coalition for the Partnership for Advancing Women in Economic Empowerment (PAWED) has advocated for more women empowerment in the proposed Kwara 2022 Budget.

The group raised this point in Ilorin, on Wednesday, during a visit to some ministries in the state as part of its 3-day training programme for some women in the state.

The training is being handled by the Michael Imuodu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS), Ilorin.

Over 30 women will benefit from the programme which is being funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Speaking during the visit to the Commissioner of Agriculture, Saba Isa Gideon, the DG MINILS, Comrade Isa Aremu, called on the ministries to ensure that allocations in all spheres of social investments take women into consideration.

Represented by Imam Ibrahim Akeyede, the DG said the advocacy is a follow up to the commitment of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq that his administration is prepared to ensure gender inclusion as key to faster growth in the state.
