APC wins Ekiti assembly seat

The candidate of New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, Mohammed Bello Shehu has been declared winner of the Fagge Federal House of Representatives of Kano state.

Mr Shehu defeated the serving member House of Representatives, Aminu Sulaiman Goro of the All Progressive Congress, APC, ending his 12 years reign in the Green Chamber.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that Mr Shehu was leading with over 18,000 votes in the February 25 election before it was declared inconclusive by INEC due to cancellation of some polling units over violence.

Announcing the results of the rerun on Saturday, the Returning Officer, Ibrahim Suraj, said Mr Shehu got 19, 024 votes, followed by the candidate of the Labour Party, Shuaibu Abubakar,  who polled

INEC has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ido-Osi Constituency 1, Mr Babatunde Fawekun, as winner in the House of assembly supplementary election held on Saturday.

The commission’s Head of Voter Education and Publicity in Ekiti, Mr Temitope Akanmu, made the result public in a statement he issued in Ado-Ekiti.

Akanmu stated that Fawekun polled 4,674 votes to beat his closest rival from the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Mr Ishola Fadahunsi, who polled 4,202 votes.
