Igbo group rejects Iwuanyanwu as Ohaneze Ndigbo President

DAILY POST

A sociopolitical group and affiliate of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, Njiko Igbo Forum, says it would not recognise Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu as the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

This was disclosed in a press release signed by the president of Njiko Igbo Forum, Rev Okechukwu Christopher Obioha, on Friday.

Njiko Igbo Forum said it will, instead, recommend Joe Nworgu, who served as Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General, respectively, for Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, in the past.

DAILY POST recalls that a delegation of the Imo Elders Council, led by the chairman, HRM Eze Cletus Ilomuanya, had presented Iwuanyanwu to Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma as the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

Ilomuanya told Uzodinma that the Imo State Council of Elders decided to adopt Iwuanyanwu at its meeting in April in Owerri.

However, Njiko Igbo Forum said the group and other Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide affiliate organisations wouldn’t recognise Iwuanyanwu.
