IPOB cautions against protests in the South-East due to economic challenges

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has prohibited protests regarding hunger in the South-East, warning against any Nigerian agent attempting to organize such demonstrations.

The group emphasized that the economic difficulties plaguing Nigeria are a concern for Nigerians and not Biafrans, highlighting past injustices against the Igbo people.

IPOB urged Biafrans to refrain from participating in protests against Nigeria’s economic hardships, stressing that the issue is rooted in Nigeria’s historical crimes against Biafrans.

While encouraging Nigerians facing economic challenges to stage protests in Northern or Western Nigeria, expressing concern about state-sponsored insecurity in the South-East, the group warned that the Eastern Security Network (ESN) is prepared to counter any attempt to organize hunger protests in Biafraland.

Meanwhile, amidst rising food crisis, protests erupted in Ibadan, Oyo State, denouncing the escalating cost of living, food prices, and economic challenges, calling for government intervention.
