IPOB: Igbo refuse to participate in Nigeria hardship protest

The separatist Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has cautioned against protests in Nigeria’s South-East, urging Igbo people not to participate in demonstrations over economic hardship under President Bola Tinubu’s government.

IPOB, through its spokesman Emma Powerful, asserted that Biafrans no longer had interest in Nigeria and warned against endangering Igbo lives with protests.

Meanwhile, Ohanaeze Ndigbo advised patience with Tinubu’s administration, contrasting IPOB’s stance.

The separatist group emphasized that Nigeria’s economic challenges should be tackled by Nigerians, not Biafrans, citing historical grievances and security concerns in the South-East.

IPOB urged protests to occur in other regions, highlighting the region’s security challenges.
