NYSC DG cautions corps members against sharing camp activities on social media

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yusha’u Ahmed, has issued a stern warning to corps members, advising them against sharing camp activities on social media. Addressing the 2024 Batch A Stream 1 corps members at the NYSC Ogun State Permanent Orientation Camp, Sagamu, Ahmed emphasized that moments captured during the three-week exercise should be for personal consumption only.

In addition to cautioning against unnecessary journeys, particularly unauthorized ones, the DG urged corps members to prioritize their safety. Ahmed encouraged them to make the most of their service year, emphasizing the importance of productivity and goal-oriented activities throughout their service.

Furthermore, Ahmed advised corps members to actively participate in the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme, highlighting the collaboration with financial institutions to provide interest-free loans and grants for wealth creation.

During the visit, the NYSC DG donated four cows and cash gifts to various categories of corps members. The State Coordinator, Olayinka Nasamu, reported positive behavior and adaptation to the regimented camp life among the participants. The NYSC program, which includes a three-week orientation course, is compulsory for all Nigerian graduates mobilized for national service.
