Amidst reports of personal data being sold by websites like AnyVerify.com.ng, the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has denied any breach of their database, instead blaming careless Nigerians for uploading their information to unauthorised websites.
However, cyber security experts believe that this is unlikely to be the sole cause of the breach, suggesting instead that authorised partners may have compromised the database.
