Junior NCoS officers protest mandatory new uniform for promotion exam

Junior officers of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) are currently expressing their discontent over the service’s recent decision to make the wearing of the new uniform mandatory for participation in an upcoming promotion examination.

The decision has been met with protests from the affected officers, who have raised concerns over the fairness of the policy.

The officers argue that in uniformed organizations, the rank and files usually receive uniforms free of charge. However, they claim that the NCoS has not provided them with the new uniforms free of cost, as was done for their senior colleagues.

This has created a disparity and led to frustration among the junior officers.

The affected personnel have also voiced their alarm over the fact that wearing the new uniform has been made a condition for taking part in the promotion examination, which is scheduled to take place between July 1 and July 6, 2024.
