Confraternity Day: Rivers CP orders raid of cult hideouts, suspects arrests

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, has ordered operatives to raid hideouts domiciled by cultists across the state.

The Rivers State Police Command has received intelligence about a planned nationwide celebration of the Neo-Black Movement’s (also known as ‘Aye’ or ‘Black Axe’) Founder’s Day on July 7, 2024, which may lead to violent attacks and inter-cult clashes in tertiary institutions.

The police have ordered a raid on suspected cult hideouts, including hotels, to prevent the event from holding and potential bloodshed.

The Neo-Black Movement is notorious for killings, inter-cult clashes, and violent conduct, and the police are working to prevent forced initiations, rape, and armed robbery.

The police have advised higher institutions to increase security measures, parents to monitor their children, and community leaders to report suspicious activities to prevent any untoward incidents.
