Minister: One year too soon to judge Tinubu government amid protest plans

The Minister of State for Water Resources, Barrister Bello Goronyo, has urged organizers of the planned hunger protest to reconsider, emphasizing that one year is insufficient to evaluate President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

During a stakeholders’ meeting organized by the Sokoto State Government to address the planned protest, Goronyo claimed that the protestors aim to destabilize the nation, not just target the President. He stated, “These individuals are determined to disrupt our country. Their goal is to create chaos similar to what we see in troubled nations like Sudan.”

Goronyo highlighted that President Tinubu had acknowledged the challenges from the outset, noting that he inherited both assets and significant liabilities from his predecessor. He argued that one year and two months are not enough to fairly assess an administration facing such substantial inherited issues.

He reassured that the government is actively working to prevent hunger and insecurity in the country.
