The federal government has endorsed the Bakassi Deep Seaport Integrated Project, a maritime sector transformation initiative aimed at boosting Nigeria’s economy. The project includes a 217-kilometer superhighway as an evacuation corridor and is expected to facilitate the export of key agricultural products.
The minister praised the Cross River State Government’s adoption of the Public-Private Partnership model, stating it would ensure the port’s competitiveness and attractiveness to local and international stakeholders. The project aligns with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
