More than 40 people feared trapped in catastrophic building collapse in Abuja

SaharaReporters learnt that the incident happened on Saturday and sympathisers and emergency workers are currently at the scene trying to get under the rubble.

No fewer than 40 persons are currently trapped in a building collapse that occurred in the Sabon Lugbe area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

SaharaReporters learnt that the incident happened on Saturday and sympathisers and emergency workers are currently at the scene trying to get under the rubble.

“People are under this rubble. It is a building under construction. We are calling on the government and televant agencies to come and rescue those who are trapped here,” a narrator in the video of the incident obtained by SaharaReporters said.

In the first week of October, responders had rescued four people from a two-storey residential building, a section of which collapsed in Abuja.
