An indecisive couple were struggling to pick a baby name – so they roped in their dog to help.

Courtney Brooks, 29, and her husband, Oliver, 30, put together a shortlist of three names.

Then they got their two-year-old pooch, Gus, to do the honours.

The couple wrote the names Casey, Brody and Jaxon on three different tennis balls.

They then threw them across the park to see which one Gus would retrieve

He came back with the “Brody” ball, so Courtney and Oliver followed his lead.

Little Brody was born on July 5, 2023, weighing 6lbs 10oz, at William Harvey Hospital, Ashford, Kent.

And the dog lovers have no doubt their spaniel terrier cross will make the perfect “big brother”.

Courtney, a virtual assistant, from Folkstone, Kent, said: “He’s a very clever dog.

“I think he knew very early on that I was pregnant but was pretending not to.

“One random night I was lying there, and Gus cuddled up to me and laid right on my belly and the baby started going crazy.
