‘I always ask to see men’s bank accounts on first dates – but I’m no gold digger’

A young woman has sparked outrage after admitting she insists on seeing a man’s bank details on a first date.

But Sofia Franklyn, 31, denies being a “gold digger” because she’s wealthy and successful in her own right.

Having money in the bank is one of two standards potential suitors must meet to show they’re at the same level as her.

Speaking on her podcast, in a chat with guest Leo Skepi, she confessed that she had demanded to look at one recent date’s online banking, made a screenshot of his balance, and sent it to herself.

“I don’t think it’s weird to ask for that kind of information on a first date,” she insisted.

“I’m not joking,” Sofia said. “I have asked the last three dudes I’ve dated for their bank account info on the first date.”

She says it’s important for her to be sure that whoever she dates has got plenty of cash.
