Kate Greville, the former partner of Ryan Giggs, has admitted lying to him about having cancer and also faced accusations of planning a pregnancy without his knowledge, a court heard today.
The ex-Wales and Manchester United footballer is on trial for allegedly intimidating, controlling, coercing and physically assaulting Ms Greville, all of which he denies.
At Manchester Crown Court on Thursday (August 11), Chris Daw QC, Giggs’ barrister, continued his cross-examination of Ms Greville, which began on Wednesday. Once court had resumed for the afternoon, Daw QC questioned Ms Greville on telling Giggs she had a “bad smear test” after she said “he could tell something was up”.
