Kwara police lift ban on public gatherings

The Kwara State Police Command has lifted the temporary ban placed on gatherings and processions imposed on the people of the state four days ago.

A press statement signed and issued by the spokesperson of the command on Saturday said that the temporary ban placed by the police on rallies and public processions has helped to maintain and foster peace in the state.

“However, the command is fully ready to continue to discharge her constitutionally assigned duty of protecting the lives and property of citizens and residents alike.

“The state Commissioner of Police, CP Paul Odama, wishes to appreciate the good people of Kwara State for their determination to work with security agencies to deepen the peace and harmony the state is known for, regardless of the inconveniences attached to that,” the statement said.
