Flutterwave partners EFCC, FBI, to build cybercrime research centre

Mr Agboola said the research centre reaffirmed Flutterwave’s commitment to “promoting secure and safe transactions” and “creating a fraud-free financial ecosystem.”

Flutterwave, a leading African payment company, has partnered with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) to establish a cybercrime research centre in Nigeria.

The centre aims to enhance the security of online transactions and combat internet fraud, with Flutterwave providing training and technical expertise to anti-corruption agents.

The partnership, formalized on June 14, is the first of its kind in West Africa and will focus on seven key areas, including fraud detection, research, and youth empowerment.

The state-of-the-art centre, to be built at the EFCC academy, seeks to address the growing threat of internet fraud and protect the stability of financial systems in Nigeria.
