Renowned lawyer and elder statesman, Afe Babalola, has issued a stern warning to the Federal Government, urging decisive action to shut down “mushroom universities” and study centers that threaten the quality of education in Nigeria.
Speaking during his conferment as a Fellow of King’s College, London, Babalola emphasized the urgent need for the National Universities Commission (NUC) to focus on closing down substandard institutions and ensuring that only universities that meet the required standards remain operational.
