Dangote refinery expands international reach: Talks with Libya, Angola for crude to feed Lagos plant

In a bid to overcome domestic supply problems, Nigeria’s Dangote refinery is in talks with Libya and Angola to secure crude for its 650,000 barrels per day (bpd) facility.

The refinery, Africa’s largest built by Aliko Dangote, had to resort to importing crude from far-flung regions such as Brazil and the United States due to issues plaguing Nigeria’s oil sector, including theft, pipeline vandalism, and low investment.
