We’re working to ensure safe return of kidnapped Celestial Church shepherd -Police

In a bid to allay the fears of friends and family of kidnapped Celestial Church shepherd, Senior Evangelist Oluwatosin Alayo, the Lagos State Police Command has opened up on its efforts to secure his freedom.

In a chat with RIFNOTE, the Spokesman of the Command,Benjamin Hundeyin, said the police was working assiduously to ensure his safe return.

Confirming the incident, Hundeyin said, ” It’s true and the Command is working seriously to ensure his safe return to his family. “

Recall that Senior Evangelist Oluwatosin Alayo, shepherd of Celestial Church of Christ, Nazareth Parish 1, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos ,was abducted on Monday night.

Sources familiar with the incident said Alayo was kidnapped on Monday  evening at his Adamo residence,Ikorodu,Lagos, which is said to be a few metres away from the church.

Rifnote gathered that Alayo’s abductors are demanding N30 million ransom to secure his release.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a neighbour to the kidnapped shepherd said, “A parish in my neighbourhood celebrated its 21st Adult Harvest on Sunday. And this afternoon(Tuesday),news came to me that the shepherd was kidnapped last night. He was ferried away through the lagoon at Babington.”
