Demand for shift in 2023 election timetable by IPAC is  retrogressive, says CTA

AN election monitoring group,  the  Centre for Transparency Advocacy (CTA) has taken a swipe at the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) for calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to shift the 2023 general and Presidential elections, saying that such an action is highly condemnaable and retrogressive in nature.

The CTA in a statement yesterday by its Executive Director, Faith Nwadishi, threw its weight behind the position of INEC on not prepared to shift the polls, justas the group urged all the  political parties to heed to the guidelines under the electoral act and the same level of commitment towards a credible poll.

Expressing surprise over the request to INEC for a shift in the 2023 election timetable by IPAC, CTA noted that such would derail the electoral process and asked the electoral umpire not to contemplate doing that.
