Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to “endorse” him for the 2023 presidential election and not compete with him.
A former Lagos governor, Mr Tinubu said his appeal for endorsement was because he had once supported the PDP presidential candidate for the same position in 2007.
“It is payback time. Let Atiku (Abubakar) endorse me instead of campaigning in Kaduna. I supported him in 2007,” Mr Tinubu said on Monday at the interactive session with the Arewa Joint Committee held at the Arewa House in Kaduna.
Massrs Tinubu and Abubakar are among the eighteen presidential candidates jostling for the country’s top political seat in the 2023 general elections.
