The Arewa Consultative Forum ( ACF) has condemned the attack on the convoy of the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Reacting to the incident, ACF Secretary General, Murtala Aliyu described the attack on the convoy of the former Vice President as unfortunate, saying that the North is not known for politics of violence.
He also cautioned politicians, particularly the Governor of Benue state, Samuel Ortom, and the Vice Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to desist from making inciting statements.
He said, “Our position on that is to condemn it in clear terms. The politics of violence is not in our character.
“Once in a while of course there would be skirmishes here and there, but it’s unfortunate if any contestant, most especially somebody who had held the position of Vice President of Nigeria goes to any part of the country and be attacked.
