Biden celebrates control of the Senate and says he wants one more seat after Democrats hold Nevada

President Joe Biden welcomed holding on to the Senate but said he was now focused on the final race in Georgia, in the hopes that Democrats could win one more seat and extend their power.

‘It’s always better at 51 because we’re in a situation where you don’t have to have an event makeup of the committees,’ he said. ‘And so that’s why it’s important, mostly, 

‘But it’s just simply better. The bigger the number, the better.’

He spoke to reporters traveling with him in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on Sunday morning soon after Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto was forecast to hold on to her seat in Nevada. 

It means Democrats are guaranteed 50 seats, enough to hold the majority with Vice President Kamala Harris‘s casting vote – and with one race still undecided in Georgia.
