As Muslims commenced Ramadan fasting across the country, a Southern Kaduna senator-elect,
Sunday Marshall Katung, has urged Nigerians, especially Muslims, across the country to pray more for the progress of the country.
Katung, Senator-elect, Kaduna South Senatorial District, in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Friday, called on all to use the period for sober reflection on the need for sustainable unity and progress of the state and the country.
Katung congratulated the Muslim Ummah of Kaduna South Senatorial District, the state and the nation at large, and noted that the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar offers the Muslim faithful a great opportunity to get divine forgiveness and multiple rewards for good deeds.
He, therefore, called for prayers for the state and the country while also stressing the imperative to assist the needy.
