Mother Of 8-Year-Old Girl Who Died In Biden Admin Custody: ‘They Killed My Daughter’

The mother of an 8-year-old girl who died in Biden administration custody this week says that officials repeatedly ignored pleas to get her medical attention.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced last week that the girl had “tragically passed away” while she and her family “were in custody at the Harlingen Station where she experienced a medical emergency.” CBP said that the girl was taken to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

“They killed my daughter, because she was nearly a day and a half without being able to breathe,” Mabel Alvarez Benedicks told the Associated Press. “She cried and begged for her life and they ignored her. They didn’t do anything for her.”

Officials said that the girl’s diagnosis of influenza did not initially require hospital care. Benedicks claimed that they knew of the girl’s heart problems and sickle cell anemia.
