The ties that blind: Biden family friend reportedly worked for prosecutor when Hunter probe began

A close friend of the Biden family — one who even referred to Hunter Biden, on occasion, as “brother” — appears to have worked in the Delaware U.S. Attorney’s office at the time that the probe into the president’s embattled son began.

According to a new report published Tuesday by The Washington Examiner, Alexander Mackler was employed by the Delaware U.S. Attorney’s office from August 2016 to May 2019 — and according to IRS whistleblower Joseph Ziegler, the investigation into Hunter Biden’s financial dealings began sometime prior to January of 2019.

Mackler’s ties to the Bidens run deep – going all the way back to President Joe Biden’s time in the U.S. Senate, where he served as the Delaware senator’s press secretary. He managed the late Beau Biden’s campaign for Delaware Attorney General. And he later served as deputy legal counsel to Vice President Joe Biden and was part of the Biden-Harris transition team in 2020.
