Nigeria’s ambassador to France, Kayode Laro buried in Ilorin

The remains of Nigeria’s late ambassador to France, Kayode Laro, were interred in his Ilorin residence, Kwara State capital, on Wednesday, moments after arriving the General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport.

The casket bearing the late ambassador’s remains which was draped in the nation’s green and white colours as a mark of honour for his service to Nigeria, was flown into the state with a Nigerian Air Force plane.

The deceased was later buried at his family compound in Ilorin according to Islamic rites.

Laro, who was priased for his “contributions to human capital development in Nigeria and Kwara State in particular.” died on Friday night, The PUNCH reports.

The Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Mohammed Bashiru Salihu, led the funeral prayer.
