In Mecca, Tinubu meets Islamic Development Bank over Nigeria’s infrastructural needs

President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, met with a top official of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) on the sideline of his official trip to Saudi Arabia, discussing Nigeria’s need for investments in infrastructure.

Mr Tinubu, at his meeting with the Vice-President (Country Programmes) of the IDB, Mansur Muhtar, in Mecca, pointed out the “serious deficits” in Nigeria’s port, power, and agro-allied infrastructures, which he said provided opportunities for investments.

“We have serious deficits in port infrastructure, power infrastructure, and agro-allied facilities that will enable sustainable food security in our country.

“These deficits present unrivalled opportunity for savvy investors in a market that is by far the largest on the continent. Yes, we had the vision to enable Lekki Deep Seaport before others saw it. We must be bold again,” a statement by presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, quoted the president as saying in a statement on Tuesday.
