Why I Am Fighting Obaseki – Shaibu Reveals

The recently court-reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, has revealed why he has been fighting with his boss, Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Speaking during an interview with Arise TV on Friday, Shaibu disclosed that he is fighting to prove a point so others won’t fall into similar situations.

According to him, he is not the Deputy Governor of Obaseki, but the Deputy Governor of Edo State and would remain in that position till November 11, when the administration would hand over.

Shaibu added that it is important to strengthen institutions.

“I am the deputy governor of Edo state, not the deputy governor of Obaseki or any of them. I’m an elected deputy governor of Edo State. As at the time we were nominated as governor and deputy, I was the running mate to Obaseki. Immediately I was voted into office, I became the deputy governor of Edo State.
