Saudi Arabia celebrates 94th National Day, seeks stronger ties with Nigeria

The Saudi Arabian embassy in Nigeria has celebrated its 94th National Day in Abuja, the federal capital territory (FCT).

Faisal bin Ebraheem Alghamdi, Saudi ambassador to Nigeria, hosted the event at his residence on Monday.

Government officials, heads of diplomatic missions, representatives of international organisations, and prominent businessmen attended the event.

Speaking at the event, Alghamdi reflected on 94 years since the unification of Saudi Arabia by King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, creating a “strong and stable entity grounded in a tolerant Islamic creed that upholds values of equality, justice, and confidence”.

He praised the long-standing relationship between Saudi Arabia and Nigeria, which has lasted over 63 years and has been strengthened by several bilateral agreements.

“The partnership continues to strengthen under the leadership of both countries,” he said.
