Kevin De Bruyne Won’t Play For Belgium Until 2025

Belgium’s national team captain, Kevin de Bruyne, has requested some time off from international duty to manage his playing time and recover from a recent thigh injury.

Kevin de Bruyne, who has been sidelined for the past four matches due to the injury sustained in Manchester City’s 0-0 Champions League draw against Inter Milan in September, is focused on returning to action in mid-October.

Initially expected to be left out of Belgium’s Nations League squad for upcoming matches against Italy and France due to his injury, De Bruyne has now requested to also miss November’s matches against Italy and Israel. Hence, he can only be available for international football from 2025.

Belgium boss Domenico Tedesco revealed that he had a lengthy conversation with De Bruyne, who expressed the need to take a break from international duty to prioritize his body’s recovery.
