Delta urges residents to relocate as flood threatens

The Delta State Government has said it would not abandon flood victims across the state as rising water level threatens those living in coastal communities.

The government also called on those living in flood-prone areas to relocate to higher grounds as the government was making adequate arrangements to accommodate them at the camps nearest to them.

Festus Ahon, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, gave the assurance on Saturday while speaking on the flood update in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

Ahon said the governor remained committed to ensuring that all state residents were protected and catered for in line with the administration’s agenda.
