Borno Speaker Raises Alarm Over Vice President, Shettima’s Safety Due To Faulty Presidential Aircraft

The Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan, has expressed serious concerns over the safety of Vice President, Kashim Shettima.

Lawan highlighted that the Vice President’s life is endangered by the recurrent use of a “faulty” presidential aircraft for international commitments.

This alarm was raised following Vice President Shettima’s abrupt cancellation of his scheduled appearance at the Commonwealth Summit in Samoa.

The cancellation came after an unforeseen incident at JFK Airport in New York, where the aircraft sustained significant damage due to a collision with a foreign object during a stopover.

The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, detailed that the aircraft’s windscreen and other critical parts were damaged, thwarting the Vice President’s travel plans.
