Chelsea are considering a shock move for Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran to boost their striking options in the second half of the season, according to reports.

The Blues eked past Fulham on the weekend to make it three Premier League wins on the bounce but still have problems to solve at the top of the pitch.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat in their Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Middlesbrough and have been unable to find a consistent source of goals for the entire season.

While Nicolas Jackson is competing at the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal, summer signing Christopher Nkunku continues to struggle with injury.

Although the Frenchman will soon return to first-team training, Chelsea are reportedly considering bolstering their attacking depth with a short-term loan.

And according to reports that man could be Aston Villa’s Duran.

The Colombian, who joined from Chicago Fire last season, has two league goals so far this season but has yet to start a game due to the form and consistency of Ollie Watkins.

The 20-year-old has also been the subject of interest from Serie A side AC Milan but is not likely to leave Villa unless Unai Emery’s side have a replacement lined up.
