Despite dominating portions of the match and showcasing brilliant attacking play, his team faltered in crucial moments, conceding two stoppage-time goals that sealed their fate. The frustration was compounded by the fact that Manchester United had also dropped points in their previous fixture against Brentford, further hampering their pursuit of a top-four Premier League finish.
Ten Hag said, “We deserved to win this game. But you can’t give it away like we did. We started poor, giving the ball away and defending poorly for the first two goals and then we dominated the game and were brilliant.”
