The PUNCH: There are indications that the northern governors of the All Progressives Congress from the North-West and North-East are divided over the choice of a suitable running mate for the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.


The Guardian: With the high level of unemployment and underemployment, prolonged strikes by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and its polytechnic counterpart, Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), have raised concerns about the country’s rising dependency ratio, as majority of youths are becoming idle by the day.


Vangaurd: The Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Isah Idris, has confirmed that Mr Ukpo Nwamini David, the person at the heart of the alleged organ harvesting involving former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, is not 15-year -old but 22 years -old.


This Day: Confronted with a seemingly helpless situation, Zamfara State Governor, Mohammed Matawalle, has resorted to self-help, directing residents of the state, particularly farmers, to acquire guns to defend themselves against marauding terrorists/bandits.


The Nation: Governors are taking drastic measures to battle worsening insecurity in their states. Terrorists, bandits and other categories of criminals are unrelenting in their nefarious activities. To stem the tide, Governor Bello Matawalle gave the directive to Zamfara residents to obtain guns and defend themselves against invading insurgents who threaten their peace and tranquillity.


Daily Trust: Mixed reactions on Sunday trailed the directive of the Zamfara State government for individuals to prepare and obtain guns to defend themselves against bandits, with residents and security experts giving both kudos and knocks on the policy.
