The PUNCH: Nigerians, especially bank customers, were gripped with confusion and uncertainty over whether today’s deadline by the Central Bank of Nigeria for the phasing out of the old naira notes still remains or it has been suspended following the Supreme Court injunction obtained by some northern governors.


The Guardian: To demonstrate his readiness to vacate office on May 29, President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, set the ball rolling for his handover two weeks before conduct of the presidential election, when he approved the establishment of a Presidential Transition Council.


Vanguard: The Federal Government has said it would obey the ruling of the Supreme Court suspending the February 10 deadline given by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN on the exchange of naira notes. Recall that the apex court in its ruling on Wednesday, suspended the February 10 deadline on the old naira notes which expires today.


This Day: Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, yesterday said while the federal government would obey the Supreme Court ruling, which put on hold the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) demonetisation policy, the government would take necessary steps to set aside the interim order.
