Germany welcomed King Charles on his first state visit as he plans to “strengthen ties” with the country, reports The Times. The paper also leads with research that schools are allowing their students to change gender without parental knowledge.

The Daily Mirror leads with tributes to the late comedian, campaigner, and animal enthusiast, Paul O’Grady, who died at the age of 67.

A report claiming secondary school teachers are letting their students “self-ID” unbeknown to their parents, leads the Daily Mail. According to the report, pupils can change their names and uniforms, and shun single-sex toilets.

The Sun splashes a photo of Paul O’Grady alongside his drag queen persona, Lily Savage, after he died aged 67.

Plans to increase the UK retirement age to 68 will be postponed due to “fears of revolt”, reports the Daily Express.

The UK government plans to capture and store carbon dioxide in undersea caverns to expand the production of oil and gas in the North Sea, reports The Guardian.

The Daily Star splashes a photo of a gargantuan black hole discovered by UK astronomers which is the “size of 20 Earths”.

UBS bank has appointed its former boss, Sergio Ermotti, to lead the merger between itself and Credit Suisse after Ralph Hamers stepped down as CEO, the FT reports.

Metro leads with tributes to Paul O’Grady following his death. Sir Elton John called him “a brilliant entertainer”.
