: The Chairman of the Supreme Court panel hearing the appeals against the election of President Bola Tinubu, Justice John Okoro, said on Monday that the Peoples Democratic Party standard bearer in the February presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, must prove the allegation of certificate forgery levelled against the ex-Lagos State governor beyond reasonable doubt.


The Guardian: The dilly-dallying of the Federal Government, through the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), and the proposed alteration of critical aspects of the host community fragment of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), may, in the coming days, create fresh hostility against the government and oil companies in the Niger Delta amidst Nigeria’s troubled oil production.


The Nation: The legal team of Atiku Abubakar had a tough time yesterday trying to convince the Supreme Court as to why he should be allowed to tender new evidence. It was during the hearing of the appeal by Atiku and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenging the affirmation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 poll.


Daily Trust: The federal government yesterday announced plans to automate transactions in the entire foreign exchange market in order to close the wide arbitrage and punish naira speculators. The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Wale Edun, disclosed this in Abuja during the first-panel session at the 29th Nigeria Economic Summit.
