Evil mum poisoned baby son by pouring BLEACH into his feeding tube so she could ‘get a good night’s sleep’

AN evil mum poured bleach down her baby boy’s feeding tubes so she could “get a good night’s sleep” a court has heard today.

Brooke Evelyn Lucas, 26, from Perth, Australia, said she was so desperate to take a break that she felt “relaxed and relieved” when the poison took hold of her son in December 2018.

The young boy, who is now in the care of his grandparents, was born 14 weeks premature and suffers from Pierre Robin sequence which requires constant care and eating and breathing through a tube.

He remained in hospital until December 24, 2018, when he was discharged to the care of his mother who called him a “Christmas miracle.”

But, today the Supreme Court heard that just five days later, Mrs Lucas allegedly attempted to poison her son in a desperate attempt to get him to settle.

She described to police how the little boy had been lying in his cot in his home crying, when she went went to a nearby laundry to get a bottle of Exit Mould.

The 26-year-old then poured the cleaning chemical into her son’s formula – drip-feeding the substance directly into his stomach, the court heard.

According to 7News, prosecutors say she then sat and watched her 13-month-old vomit and fit in seizures, until she eventually called emergency services – initially claiming the act was committed by the boy’s older sister.

William was then rushed to Perth Children’s Hospital – vomiting another 10 to 12 times in the ambulance alone as he fought for his life.

But, miraculously, the brave tot survived the horrific ideal and spent a further 17 weeks in recovery before he was discharged.

Meanwhile, consumed with guilt, the mother handed herself in two weeks later as she admitted to poisoning the child.

And following an extensive investigation, she came to court on Wednesday expecting to be sentenced after pleading guilty to the lesser charge of endangering the life of her son .

However, upon hearing the mother’s fresh claim, the hearing has been postponed as the judge reportedly re-considers his verdict.

The 26-year-old is expected to be sentenced on Friday.
