Following the lifting of the suspension on the operations of microblogging site Twitter in Nigeria, ThisNigeria takes a look at what Twitter and the Federal government of Nigeria agreed on.

According to the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), who announced the lifting of the suspension on Twitter in Abuja on Wednesday.

H said that Twitter and the Federal government of Nigeria agreed that the former should establish a legal entity in Nigeria during the first quarter of 2022.

And that the legal entity will register with the Corporate Affairs Commission.

Twitter also agreed to appoint a designated country representative to interface with Nigerian authorities.

Further, Twitter agreed to follow all applicable tax obligations on its operations under Nigerian law.

Twitter more so agreed to act with a respectful acknowledgement of Nigerian laws as well as the national culture and history on which such legislation had been built.
