A woman has been arrested after her husband of more than 10 years told police he believed she was poisoning him.
Dr Yue Yu, from Southern California, was arrested after her husband made the allegation upon his admission into hospital.
He was suffering “significant internal injuries” but was expected to recover.
The husband, who had not been named, had claimed his health began to deteriorate over the course of a month, Metro reports.
He had presented the Irvine Police Department with video evidence of the poisoning, after placing “ hidden cameras in an area of the home that captured evidence Ms. Yu was poisoning him”.
A spokesperson for the police department said the allegations were “incredibly serious” and had prompted officers to take action quickly.
