Giggs' texts to ex-girlfriend after he 'kicked and threw laptop at naked body'

Ryan Giggs’ assault trial has heard a series of messages from the morning after the former Manchester United star allegedly kicked and threw a laptop at the head of former partner Kate Greville, in which there is no mention of the couple having an argument or a violent act occurring.

Defence barrister Chris Daw read the messages as Greville took to the witness stand for a third day in the trial of Britain’s most decorated footballer.

Giggs is accused of assaulting Kate Greville and her younger sister, Emma Greville, with a further charge relating to controlling and coercive behaviour towards Kate Greville between 2017 and November 2020.

He denies all charges.

Greville alleges that Giggs assaulted her in a London hotel room in December 2019 following an argument having previously dragged her out of another hotel room naked in Dubai in 2017.

This morning’s questioning focused on the alleged incident in 2019.
