A 14-year-old British boy has died during a family holiday in Turkey.
The teenager drowned in the pool at the Liberty Lara Beach hotel on Sunday.
He was swimming with his aunt during a family wedding trip.
The hotel has denied that no lifeguards were on duty at the time, despite witness claims.
The identity of the boy and his family have not yet been revealed, and an investigation is ongoing.
According to The Sun, a witness said: “This happened at around 1pm and we heard the lifeguard had gone for his lunch.
“They tried very hard to revive the boy at the side of the pool but it was too late. It’s so sad, particularly when you consider they were there for such a happy reason.”
