Osun farmers’ kidnap: Relatives detained after dropping ransom

Three family members of kidnapped Osun farmers, who went to deliver the ransom for their release in Kogi State, have been detained, The Nation learnt yesterday.

A family source said Samuel’s elder brother, Sunday, and two other relatives, who went to Kogi State to deliver the ransom to the kidnappers on Monday were detained. He added that their abductors are now demanding for another N24 million ransom.

Samuel Oladotun and Tobiloba Fashola, both farmers, were kidnapped in Ayedire Local Government Area of Osun State last week. The abductors initially demanded for N25 million ransom before they agreed to N6 million.

Meanwhile, Governor Ademola Adeleke, in a statement by his spokesman, Olawale Rasheed, directed security agencies to track and rescue the victims. He also confirmed that the kidnappers detained the three persons who went to drop the ransom, and that the kidnappers are now asking for ano
