A man in Texas, United States will be in jail for 70 years for spitting on police officers while being arrested for committing counts of domestic violence.
Larry Pearson, aged 36, was found guilty of two counts of harassment of a public servant for spitting on two officers in May 2022 and was sentenced on Wednesday (April 12).
He was arrested following an incident where his victim claimed Pearson has hit her several times and had a gun on him. Officers were flagged down and it turned out his weapon was an airlift gun, but was supposedly used in a threatening manner.
At the time, the police claimed the victim had multiple “visible injuries” to her face, which was recorded in their report of the incident.
Pearson was then taken into custody by the police. Here, it was reported that he quickly grew angry and gradually more infuriated when the police refused to arrest the victim of the crime.
