Kano to pay N700m for 7,000 indigenes’ BUK fees, N854m for mass wedding

The Kano State Executive Council has granted approval for the disbursement of N700m to cover the school fees of 7,000 Kano indigenes studying at Bayero University Kano.

Additionally, N854m was allocated for the Auren Zaurawa Mass Wedding Initiative.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf disclosed this information on his verified X page, previously known as Twitter.

The governor said the approval of N700m for Kano students at the BUK was made during the State Executive Council meeting on Wednesday in response to the economic crisis in the country.

“As part of our efforts to cushion the biting effects of our current economic reality, the Kano State Executive Council under my leadership has today, approved the release of the sum of N700m to settle tuition fees for 7,000 students of Bayero University Kano,” the governor said.
