Police Inspector General, Kayode Egbetokun, has stated that police officers will continue to barricade all local government secretariats in Rivers State until the resolution of the court case regarding the tenure of local government council chairmen.
He also emphasized the need for preemptive measures to prevent any escalation of violence.
With regard to the recent police constable recruitment controversy, he mentioned that the police management is taking extra care to ensure that the individuals recruited are suitable and trainable, and that they have no intentions of fighting the Police Service Commission.
